Angel continued to help pick up his papers. His laughing did throw her for a loop. She glanced up from the papers and nodded.
“Alright.”
Her eyebrow raised in surprise. Really, Gregory? Why do you have files from when I was kid around!? Dear gods that just placed how old I am and possibly how old you are supposed to be….
She started to sort through the papers, looking for the papers. She set those aside that were old, and put the ones that were recent in another pile.
He let out a nervous chuckle. Those were actually his first case files back when he first became a defense attorney. It made him kind of embarrassed that he didn’t have them hidden somewhere. Still it could be worse considering everything. He took some of the ones that were in a pile and made sure they were all arranged properly. Not like he wasn’t sure she could do that on her own it was just to be ultra prepared.
“I actually think you saw one of my first case files. Amazing how time flies huh?”

Angel laughed softly. She didn’t mind the lack of ideas.
“Don’t worry. It happens to us all. We can just relax here if you’d like.”
The detective handed him a small pile of papers. “So what was it that you wanted to talk about?”
Gregory took the papers and placed them in the now overwhelmed drawer. He looked at it with a bit of a confused look like he was trying to figure out what was happening. He laughed to himself and placed it on the table.
“Before we do that, help me find some of the older case files on here so I can take them down to the basement. There simply isn’t enough space in this office for everything. They should be dated so you can easily identifiable.”
He showed her an example. This one came from the 80’s and he had no idea why it was still here. It just sort of was.

Angel started to help him clean. “Ah, sounds like an annoying case. Sorry for that, babe.” She didn’t mind helping out.
“That’s good. I have no idea. Where would you like to go? “
“I don’t have many ideas at the moment I’m afraid. Makes me sound ungentlemanly though so I apologize ahead of time Angel.” He said bowing in apology as he took a few more papers and were sorting through them. He was realizing that a lot of these needed to go somewhere other than his office at the time. Maybe actually using the basement to place some of the more old and outdated files. Some of these going way back.
“I’m sure something will be figured out as we go along though.”

Angel was glad she arrived on time. She didn’t have to deal with much traffic. “Greetings and Salutations, Gregory. It’s been far too long. And don’t worry. You should see my office when I have a case. ” Her office always looked like a tornado hit when she was on a case. photographs of the crime scene numbered and laid out here and there. Everything. It was never pretty. Angel saw him only as a friend now. Nothing more.
“I’ve been alright, and you?” She didn’t want to talk about love, nor did she want to talk about how she actually felt. Not right now.
“I’ve been good, besides being busy. I had a case recently involving a kid being ran over intentionally and killed. Apparently the two families that were involved are in a bitter rivalry with each other and have resorted to drastic measures to show how much they despised each other. It was a bitter case that spanned a long time. I’m glad that it’s all over with now.” Gregory said with a sigh of relief as he continued to try to clean up the place that the best he could. He knew that she wouldn’t want to see him clean so this was all useless.
“Other than that I’ve been fine. So any places that you would like to go? After all this is your choice.”

Angel gathered up her bag and a few other things from her office. She hoped she wasn’t going to run too late. She locked her office behind her before opting to take the elevator down. It didn’t take long for her to get to her car, and arrive at Gregory’s office. Part of her was nervous about seeing him again. She knew she shouldn’t be, but it’d been a while since she saw him. After calming herself down, the detective entered with a small knock.
“Gregory, It’s Angel. “
Gregory was making his way around the room very quickly. Normally he wasn’t this fast but he was trying his darnedest to make everything as clean as he could. There was piles of papers that were clear up to the ceiling at this point and he was very embarrassed. It was like a tornado had gone through this place and left everything in a jenga pile of sorts. He was taking files from past cases and placing them in various drawers and filing cabinets that were marked for such a purpose. He knew that she could show up at any moment seeing as though it was 8:25 P.M. They had been scheduled to meet at 8:30 though that didn’t really matter much, as long as they met up at one point or another.
As he was placing some files into a folder about his most recent case involving a kid being hit intentionally and killed by a driver, he heard a knock at the door. It was Angel and he was too late on trying to clean the place up. He placed the files in the folder real quick and placed them on his office table. He straightened up his suit a little bit more as he made his way towards the door, opening it up with a warm greeting, motioning for her to come inside to see the big mess that he was currently trying to clean up the best he could.
“Ah, greetings Angel darling. Apologies for the mess I’ve been working on cleaning it up for the last few hours. It’s been a while and I have to say I have missed just talking to you.” He said taking his hat off and bowing to her. It really had been a while and he missed her a lot. In the way that one would miss a friend. Not them as lovers. He certainly hoped that she would understand that at least. He looked over to the pile of papers that he made and sighed. He still had a long ways to go to make everything clean and now he had no time to be cleaning. He had to be entertaining a friend. Gregory turned his attentions now back onto Angel and gave her a nervous smile.
“How have you been anyways?”
